The ATCC Protistology Collection is the only general service collection of protozoa in the United States and one of two in the world. It is also the only service collection of parasitic protozoa in the world. Approximately 200 of the protozoans are strains of Tetrahymena in the David Nanney/Ellen Simon Special Collection, which is supported by a private endowment from Dr. Ellen Simon.
